What is up, everyone! Thank you for coming back to the seventh edition of the Twelfth Man blog! This week we have a very special episode for all of you because my guest and I talked all about March Madness. My guest for this week is a goalie for the Piedmont College Men’s lacrosse team Zach Czulada. March Madness has ensued, and the madness has just begun with a couple of very close games, with the first four games that happened on March 18th. March Madness is possibly one of the biggest fantasy sports tournaments that the world has ever seen. Ever since the NCAA has expanded the tournament to 64 teams in 1985, the tournament itself has been one of the biggest attention grabbers across the sports world. The NCAA March Madness tournament has proven in recent history to be one of the most intriguing, breathtaking and unpredictable events that sports have to offer.
On the seventh edition of the Twelfth Man podcast, we visit everything that March Madness has to offer, from who we have going all the way to the championship to how we pick the teams and everything in between. Zach Czulada has been a fan of March Madness ever since his middle school days. Having a 64 team field makes the March Madness tournament one of the most unique and exciting tournaments in sports. “By maximizing the pressure of every game and increasing the importance of every possession, it automatically thrusts its’ student-athletes into the biggest game of their careers,” said Jason Shen of Bleacher Report. From March 18th to April 5th, there will be a total of 67 games in a couple of weeks, with multiple games happening at the same time and there is little to no wait time in between these games. Whether you follow college basketball or not is not that big of a deal because the “madness” that March gives us is no other tournament that any sport can.
With March Madness just beginning and everything still fresh and new, who do you think could be one of the Cinderella stories of this tournament and why?
